Another Monday book club night...this is our fourth year, some of us have come (I joined year 2), some of us have gone, but the core of us is stronger than ever. Tonight was Sondra's turn, it was also the first time many of us had seen her beautiful new home. I had seen it previously but I am still amazed by the awesomeness of it all. She has a tap that has permanent boiling water, c'mon!!! and considering how much we love our tea, it's pretty awesome... Her home is gorgeous. She's got it pretty good that Sondra. And she may have finally sold her semi!! That is quite amazing news, long time coming! I was the first one there (surprise surprise) but I got to play a Zombie game with pretty Claire. Having never officially met before, she had no qualms about snuggling up to me with her IPad and showing me how the zombies had to be killed before they got in the house to eat her brain!! Amazing what 4 year olds can do with technology! Meg showed up next, her baby boy 15 weeks in belly, we are all so happy for her, it's nice to see her so happy and we can't wait to meet mini Adam! Alicia, Jillian and Mel show up soon after. Alicia's handsome little Alfie is the current #1 baby to be on the cover of Today's Parents magazine, they may win a trip to Toronto for a photo shoot and a 500$ Joe Fresh gift card, we are all crossing our fingers and toes! Mel's two little darlings are obsessed with their frogs... Also, Mel had a hair crisis this week, but we all think she still looks great. Jill is leaving us this summer, her husband has accepted a job in Fredericton, but we are considering Skyping her in to our meetings. As I am eating the 7th mini brownie, Kari shows up with her wonderful 7 1/2 month belly, little girl whose name remains hidden from us, but early June is when we can expect to know!! Amongst all the baby, oat cake and brownie excitement, a mug shatters on the floor... Whomp whomp... Last to arrive is Sarah with 1 month Isaac, what a cutie!! She's saying he's been fussy lately, she spent most of last night on the couch... :-(. Most of the book club ladies are present, all we are missing is Becky, poor Sawyer has an ear infection. Once we are all settled, we determine that most of us read the book, liked it, mixed reviews about the ending (I found it sad that after all, she still ended up having to do what she never wanted to do, but I guessed it gave her the freedom she so desperately seeked). That's pretty much all we said about the book, there was no other mention and honestly, that's pretty much what it comes to now at these "book club" meetings, it's become more of a haven of wonderful ladies talking, laughing, supporting one another and complaining (sometimes ravimg) about our men. Sondra asked us how we would feel about bringing a new member into our book club, and I am excited to see how she fits into our group dynamic. Sondra says she's written a book, should be exciting to read. I wonder how she's going to feel when she finds out we don't really discuss the books anymore...hehe... These monthly Monday nights (last Monday of every month) have become a very important ritual for us, we love each other, we support each other and sometimes even read the books we picked.
